Raised in Mahanoy City and Philadelphia, child prodigy Victor Schertzinger became the first composer of music for Hollywood films, then enjoyed a successful career as a director of motion pictures and writer of popular songs. Schertzinger died from a sudden heart attack when he was only fifty-two.
